Teaching Professional (Independent Contractor)
Location: Crystal Lake Golf Club, Lakeville, Minnesota
Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Reports To: General Manager / Director of Golf

Crystal Lake GC, is the 5th busiest public golf facility in Minnesota, dedicated to growing the game and providing outstanding experience for golfers of all ages and skill levels. With a strong member and daily-fee player base, active junior participation, and consistent foot traffic, we are seeking a motivated Golf Teaching Professional to build and grow a thriving instructional program.
Position Overview
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, self-motivated Golf Teaching Professional to operate as an independent contractor and lead instructional services at our facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven instructor to build their own business within a high-traffic public golf environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide private and group instruction for adults and juniors
• Develop and run clinics, beginner programs, and junior camps
• Create player development pathways to increase player retention
• Market and promote lessons through social media and facility channels
• Manage scheduling, payments, and client communication
• Utilize teaching technology (video, launch monitor, etc.) if applicable
• Conduct club fittings
• Maintain professional standards and positive public engagement
Contractor Structure
• 1099 independent contractor status
• Lesson revenue split and agreed facility use fee
• Instructor is responsible for their own scheduling, billing, insurance, and taxes
• Access to range and practice facilities as agreed upon
• Marketing support from the facility (website, email, social media, signage)
Ideal Candidate
• PGA/LPGA Member or Associate preferred (not required depending on experience)
• Proven ability to generate and retain clientele
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with business-building experience
• Comfortable working in a public, high-volume environment
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
Compensation
• Revenue share structure: 85/15 split in favor of instructor and flat monthly range access fee
• Instructor sets their own lesson rates (subject to facility approval)
• High earning potential based on lesson volume and program growth
