What You'll Do:
- Oversee and participate in the preparation and review of all federal and state income tax returns.
- Review tax returns completed by tax accountants and provide feedback and guidance.
- Oversee workload distribution, deadlines, and accuracy of deliverables.
- Conduct tax research and prepare tax research memos on complex issues.
- Develop structured training programs and materials on complex tax issues.
- Represent tax issues with outside departments of revenue by being a Power of Attorney.
- Evaluate tax software effectiveness and internal control procedures; identify and implement process improvements and ensure all filing deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
- Support IRS and state audit responses by gathering documentation and drafting correspondence.
- Assist with the processing of estimated federal and state tax payments as assigned.
- Participate in departmental initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Supervise tax accountants.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the tax accounting team.
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.

Requirements
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
- A bachelor's degree in accounting and six (6) or more years of tax experience with three (3) or more years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting and tax law knowledge.
- Supervisory and leadership experience.
- Ability to prepare, review, and train others on all tax returns.
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding work projects and tax issues. Ability to independently create and deliver training materials.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective time management skills to meet all deadlines.
- Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Ability to work in team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to use professional tax software.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
