JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
2. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
3. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
4. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
5. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
6. Records patient vital signs and medical information.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
2. Valid NJ RN license
3. BLS certification
4. ACLS certification

Preferred:

1. BSN
2. Prior ED or critical care experience

Hackettstown Medical Center has been providing care to the community since 1973, primarily serving Warren, Sussex and Morris Counties in New Jersey. From preventive services and outpatient testing, to care for minor injuries and life-threatening illness, we offer a wide range of services to keep our local population healthy. Hackettstown Medical Center maintains several designations, including Primary Stroke Center from both the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services and The Joint Commission's advanced certification program; accreditations from the American College of Radiology for mammography, nuclear medicine and ultrasound; sleep disorder center accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; and Quality of Care recognition for our cardiopulmonary department from the American Association for Respiratory Care. ABOUT THE TEAM

That is why Atlantic Health System's hospitals have emergency departments, providing 24/7 access to state-of-the-art technology, life-saving treatments and expert medical teams trained in emergency medicine procedures. Many of our locations offer comprehensive stroke care, pediatric emergency care, cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging and fast-track areas for the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses. At Morristown Medical Center, our trauma center is verified as a Level I Regional Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and designated a Level II by the state of New Jersey. We are equipped with a helipad for medevac air transport and have easy access for ground transportation. In addition, through the Atlantic Health System Transfer Center, we can expertly coordinate the transfer of patients or their loved ones in need of assistance from anywhere in the world to our hospitals.
