HOURS: Short-Term, Full Time (June-August 2026)
SALARY: $3,750/month, plus $650/month for incidentals.

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
NEWCO Strategies, a diverse, full service strategic consulting firm, is looking for a Community Shop Organizer who’s ready to hit the road this summer. NEWCO Strategies is a women-led, minority-majority, and majority LGBTQ firm powered by experience, unique perspectives, and diverse lived experiences with headquarters in Washington, D.C. The Organizer role is a temporary fully remote, travel-based position.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Community Shop translates political message into creative products with purpose to reach and inspire more people in more places. We believe community isn’t something you join — it’s something you build. We’re a one-stop shop for merch with message that inspires you to build the kind of community we all deserve.
What we wear, use, and share tells the story of who we are — and who we want to be. Whether you work for good, march in the streets, or just plain think what’s happening isn’t ok and we can do better - Community Shop has something for you. If you’re interested in working at the intersection of progressive organizing, brand-building, and grassroots movement work — and want to spend a summer connecting with people across America — send us a note.
You will directly engage with NEWCO leadership and Community Shop staff, and participate in a variety of activities — including event execution, grassroots relationship-building, merchandise sales, and social content creation — designed to grow the Community Shop brand and deepen its presence on the ground. You will join our Across America Tour to 12-15 states to serve as a brand ambassador and organizer for Community Shop at festivals, Prides, farmers markets, and other gathering places. This Project is designed to place mission-driven talent on the ground during the most active season in the progressive organizing calendar — and to grow Community Shop’s presence where it matters most.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
No two days look the same, but Organizers can expect:
Representing Community Shop at events over the course of the summer — rallies, festivals, Pride events, union halls, campus organizing drives, and more
Communicating about merchandise and telling the Community Shop story to organizers, activists, donors, and everyday supporters
Building relationships with local progressive organizations, campaigns, and grassroots groups that outlast the summer
Receiving intel and ideas from community stakeholders
Creating social content for Community Shop’s platforms, including TikTok and Instagram
Coordinating event logistics, travel, and expense reporting with a high degree of independence
Serving as on-the-ground eyes and ears for the NEWCO and Community Shop teams, reporting back on community needs, trends, and partnership opportunities
