Overview

Harbour Pointe Golf Club in New Bern, NC is seeking a motivated Head Golf Professional to contribute to a positive experience for members and guests while continuing to grow knowledge of golf club operations. This role is part of Troon and supports the club's overall golf operation and service environment.

Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be a PGA member.
• Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
• Experience with Golf Genius software.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet activity, merchandise inventory, range operations, player service operations, cart fleet, and may assist with supervising other club operations.
• Assist in the development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan and help control expenses in relation to revenues.
• Create a customer service oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets member needs while ensuring associates provide a high level of customer service.
• Work closely with the Superintendent and the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure timely communication and establish a good working relationship.
• Prepare work schedules and assign associates areas of responsibility.
• Handle data capture and data collection of golfing guests and potential customers utilizing Troon Rewards and/or other club-defined processes.
• Perform payroll tasks as scheduled, make adjustments prior to submitting to payroll, and monitor hours to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.
• Provide leadership and vision to golf staff, building people and preparing them for career advancement.
• Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests.
• Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Manage department members that may include Assistant and Associate Golf Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Tournament Coordinator, and Guest Services Attendants.
• Ensure effective orientation and training are given to each new associate and develop ongoing training programs.
• Monitor business volume forecast and plan accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
• Implement and maintain excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as required.
