Introduction
The Fusion Center Leader is responsible for the leadership, performance, and continuous evolution of IBM's Corporate Security Fusion Center. This role integrates security operations monitoring, tactical intelligence, incident response, crisis coordination, and executive engagement into a unified operating model. Operating in a 24/7 environment, this position ensures threats are proactively identified, analyzed, and managed.
In addition to SOC responsibilities, the position provides secondary, on‑site support for physical security operations at the assigned location, helping maintain asset protection, emergency readiness, and compliance with corporate standards.
Your role and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Fusion Center Operations & Monitoring
- Lead 24/7 Fusion Center operations
- Direct monitoring, detection, triage, and escalation of events through Genetec, AMAG, Everbridge and other analytic tools
- Optimize alerting and reduce false positives
Incident Management & Crisis Response
- Serve as escalation leader for major incidents
- Coordinate real-time response across stakeholders
- Lead crisis response, exercises, and after-action reviews
Intelligence Integration & Threat Analysis
- Integrate multiple data sources, interfacing with intelligence and security professionals
- Monitor emerging threats and conduct gap assessments
Technology, Systems & Innovation
- Oversee monitoring platforms and security technologies
- Manage vendor relationships and system performance
- Drive technology improvements and innovation
Program Governance & Performance Management
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics for reporting and analysis
- Ensure audit readiness and governance compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Interface
- Engage cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
- Deliver executive briefings and operational reports
- Support client visits and presentations
Vendor, Partner & External Coordination
- Manage vendor relationships regarding service delivery, contract execution
- Coordinate with law enforcement and external partners
People Leadership & Operational Culture
- Lead multi-disciplinary team of IBM and vendor resources
- Oversee training, recruitment, and readiness programs
- Foster accountability and collaboration
Required education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 710+ years in Fusion Center, Security Operations Center, or security operations.
- 35+ years in leadership of 24/7 operations.
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Incident management and crisis response frameworks.
- Intelligence lifecycle and threat analysis.
- Security systems and SOC platforms.
- Data analytics, dashboards, and visualization tools.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- CPP, PSP, CISSP, or Security+ preferred.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
