The Division of Cardiac Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a full-time position as a clinical instructor in Advanced Cardiac Surgery.
UCLA Health is a nationally recognized quaternary cardiac surgery program performing high volumes of complex adult cardiac procedures, including aortic root and arch surgery, reoperative cases, cardiac transplantation, ECMO, left ventricular assist devices, and minimally invasive valve surgery. The division maintains a world-renown academic practice while supporting basic and clinical research.
Clinical Responsibilities 
Participate in the full spectrum of complex adult cardiac surgery including valve surgery, aortic surgery, coronary revascularization, reoperative cases, and cardiac transplantation
Contribute to divisional growth in depth and breadth of operative portfolio
Work closely with the Adult ECMO Program on VA, VV or ECPR cases
Academic Responsibilities
Teach cardiothoracic surgery residents and medical students
Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations
Participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives
Engage with the division's outcomes research program through national and institutional datasets
Qualifications 
M.D. or D.O. with completion of an accredited general/cardiothoracic surgery residency or fellowship
Board eligibility or board certification by the American Board of Surgery or American Board of Thoracic Surgery
Special interest or advanced training in robotic cardiac surgery, complex aortic surgery, or mechanical circulatory support desirable
Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine and scholarly productivity expected
California medical license or eligibility to obtain one required
