Introduction
The Corporate Security Manager oversees all physical security, emergency preparedness, and protective operations for the company's flagship office building in New York City. This high-profile role requires a seasoned professional with extensive law enforcement experience who can seamlessly blend tactical expertise with corporate business acumen.
The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day security posture of the property, manage proprietary and contract security personnel, and serve as the primary administrator and liaison for the NYPD Paid Detail program. This position requires the ability to maintain active armed status and carry a concealed firearm in accordance with state, local, and corporate policy.
Your role and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Program Administration & Law Enforcement Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact and manager for the NYPD Paid Detail program, overseeing scheduling, deployment orders, administrative compliance, and billing reconciliation.
- Integrate active-duty NYPD detail officers seamlessly into daily corporate security operations, ensuring alignment with corporate culture and expectations.
- Maintain strong, proactive working relationships with local NYPD precincts, emergency services, and public safety agencies to facilitate rapid intelligence sharing and incident response.
Physical Security & Operational Management
- Direct daily security operations for the flagship asset, ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, tenants, executives, and high-profile visitors.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate contract or proprietary security staff, establishing high standards for professional execution, appearance, and customer service.
- Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and life-cycle management of all advanced physical security systems, including access control, visitor management, and AI-enabled video analytics.
- Conduct continuous vulnerability assessments and coordinate with technical vendors to mitigate physical security risks.
Incident Command & Emergency Response
- Develop, maintain, and test comprehensive emergency action plans (EAPs) tailored to a flagship corporate environment (e.g., active threat, fire/life safety, civil unrest, medical emergencies).
- Serve as the on-site Incident Commander during high-stress situations, stabilizing the environment and leading coordination with responding emergency personnel.
- Proactively monitor local threat intelligence, protest activity, and geopolitical risks that may impact building operations or corporate reputation.
- Provide a polished, reassuring "executive presence" when interfacing with C-suite leadership, board members, and visiting dignitaries.
- Coordinate on-site logistics, vehicle arrivals, and close-proximity security support for executive protection movements within the building ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Legal, HR, Facilities, Events Team and senior Leadership-ELT) to ensure security protocols satisfy corporate governance and minimize liability exposure.

Experience & Credentials
- Law Enforcement Background: A minimum of 1015 years of distinguished service in a federal, state, or municipal law enforcement agency (NYPD experience highly preferred). Prior supervisory or command-level experience is strongly desired.
- Armed Requirement: Must possess a valid, unrestricted NYS/NYC Concealed Carry Firearm License (or maintain active, compliant federal LEOSA / HR 218 credentials). Must successfully pass regular firearms proficiency qualifications and background checks. Must also possess NY State Armed Guard License issued by NY State Department of State, Division of Licensing Services
- Corporate Security Acumen: Prior experience in corporate security management, high-rise property protection, or executive protection operations is a significant plus.
Technical & Functional Competencies
- Deep administrative knowledge of the regulations, boundaries, and operational dynamics of the NYPD Paid Detail program or similar public-private police partnerships.
- Strong working knowledge of modern physical security concepts, including CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), threat assessment methodologies, and corporate security technology integrations.
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS/NIMS) or equivalent crisis management frameworks.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
