City Manager
Nestled along the alluring shores of Lake Michigan’s Little Bay de Noc, Escanaba, Michigan, population (12,450) is seeking candidates to serve as their next City Manager.
The new leader will enjoy a stable environment with a City Council and staff that work together as a team to solve issues. The City Council fully supports the council-manager form of government. Escanaba is well known to be one of the Upper Peninsula's gems. In fact, the community is so popular, Escanaba is the home of the U.P. State Fair. Escanaba also is the home team for several community events including the Ludington Street Cruise, UPTOBERFEST, and the Rock the Dock!
Escanaba is clearly a destination. Each summer and fall, the city welcomes 39 cruise ships to port. Thousands of visitors enjoy plenty of pristine waterfront, music in the park, a bustling downtown and one of the friendliest communities in America. The ideal candidate must bring a demonstrated resume of emotional intelligence, authentic leadership, exemplary customer service, knowledge of public utilities, an empathetic demeanor and outstanding fiscal responsibility. While the City Council prefers candidates with municipal experience, candidates with the right blend of experience, and personal skills, will be strongly considered.
