Project: NSF Lighting the Pathway to Faculty Careers for Natives in STEM

Dates of Contract : December 11 - July 31, 2024 (with the possibility of extension)
Section 1 – SCOPE OF WORK - CONTRACTOR Responsibilities
The contractor's primary objective is to enhance the professional development of Indigenous STEM students and professionals in academia through the AISES Lighting the Pathway Series. This includes creating and maintaining a supportive and educational environment, organizing monthly webinars, curating resources, and facilitating networking opportunities.
CONTRACTOR agrees to provide the following services throughout the term of this contract:
Monthly Webinars
Organize and host a series of monthly virtual sessions targeting Indigenous STEM students and early-career faculty and the Faculty Career Development Workshop.
- Identify relevant topics and themes in consultation with participants, AISES staff, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with speakers, panelists, experts, and facilitators for each session.
- Manage logistics, including scheduling, promotion, registration and technical support.
- Ensure that the sessions are engaging, informative and accessible to a diverse audience.
Database Management
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of Native STEM Faculty across the US.
- Include contact information, academic affiliations, areas of expertise, and other relevant details.
- Regularly update the database, ensuring accuracy and completeness with at least quarterly updates.
Resource Management
- Create and maintain an online resource center accessible to participants.
- Populate the resource center with webinar recordings, guidebooks, reading lists, and other materials that support the professional development of Indigenous STEM students and faculty.
- Ensure the resource center is user-friendly and organized for easy navigation.
- Regularly update the resources, ensuring accuracy and completeness with at least quarterly updates.
Timeline
The contract period commences immediately upon agreement and concludes on July 31, 2024.
Section 2 – SCOPE OF WORK - AISES Responsibilities
AISES agrees to provide the following throughout the term of this contract:
CONTRACTOR shall be compensated $35/hour for up to 25 hours per week to assist in the development and implementation of the Lighting the Pathway to Faculty Careers program.
