Your role and responsibilities
The Workday Illuminate Lead is responsible for designing, managing, and delivering the Illuminate experience within Workday implementations. This role partners with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to guide organizations through their Workday transformation, using Illuminate methodologies to align strategy, drive decision-making, and ensure a high‑quality deployment. The ideal candidate brings deep Workday functional knowledge, strong facilitation skills, and experience leading strategic workshops. The key responsibilities include: Illuminate Delivery & Facilitation
Lead and facilitate Workday Illuminate workshops, including Foundation, Future State, Alignment, and Design sessions.
Drive client alignment on vision, guiding principles, strategic decisions, and business process priorities.
Translate organizational goals into actionable Workday design recommendations.
Use Illuminate assets, tools, and playbacks to support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Client Engagement & Advisory
Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, HRIS teams, and key stakeholders.
Provide clear explanations of Workday capabilities and implications of design decisions.
Partner with change management teams to connect process design with future-state behaviors and adoption strategy.
Project Collaboration
Work closely with Workday functional leads to ensure Illuminate outputs are reflected in system design.
Support project planning activities, including scoping, risk identification, and timeline alignment.
Contribute to cross-functional activities, such as testing readiness, deployment planning, and solution walkthroughs.
Quality Assurance & Methodology
Ensure adherence to Workday delivery methodology and Illuminate best practices.
Maintain and update Illuminate deliverables, documentation, and templates.
Advocate for process optimization, configuration consistency, and scalable design decisions.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
58+ years of experience in Workday implementations across HCM, Talent, Compensation, or related modules.
Demonstrated experience leading Workday Illuminate or comparable strategic design workshops.
Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to translate complex business needs into Workday-aligned design recommendations.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a consulting or enterprise environment.
Workday HCM Certification
Experience in organizational design, HR transformation, or change management.
Prior consulting experience with global or enterprise-scale programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Advanced Workday Module Knowledge: Experience with additional Workday modules beyond core HCM and core compensation, enabling a broader understanding of the Workday ecosystem.
• Industry-Specific Compensation Expertise: Familiarity with industry-specific compensation practices and regulations, allowing for tailored solution design and implementation.
• Cloud-Based Solution Integration: Exposure to integrating Workday with other cloud-based solutions, enhancing the ability to develop comprehensive solutions that meet client needs.
