Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Weekend
As a True Friends Weekend Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll make a meaningful impact by supporting participants with personal care, health needs, and meal preparation. You'll also facilitate recreational and leisure activities, actively engaging and encouraging participants to build independence and enjoyable positive, empowering experiences. This rewarding role allows you to create lasting memories while making a real difference in the lives of those you support.
Schedule: Part-time, year-round, Friday evening through Sunday morning
Pay: $17.42
Location: Camp Friendship, Annandale, MN

How You'll Contribute:
- Assist participants with activities of daily living, including personal cares, meals, and recreational/leisure activities
- Lead activities as assigned by leadership
- Reports any changes in participant condition promptly
- Ensure participants' belongings are properly checked in and returned
- Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of areas used by participants and staff
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings
- Transport participants to various locations as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- Must be able to pass an organizational background check
- Minimum age of 18 years or older
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- High school diploma required; some college in a related field desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to safely handle physical aggression and challenging behaviors
- Detail-oriented with strong emphasis on safety
- Must be a team player and able to work independently
Physical demands
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate verbally
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move continually during working hours
- Ability to feel objects and use fingers to operate tools and controls
