Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce safe digging practices in accordance with state 811 dig laws
- Visit active job sites using a company-provided vehicle to communicate with contractors and homeowners regarding safe excavation procedures
- Coordinate and facilitate corrections or updates to gas utility markings as needed
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of utility markings
- Accurately document daily activities, observations, and field findings
- Assist with identifying marked utilities, structures, and map information in the field
- Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with contractors, homeowners, and team members
- Comfortable working independently in the field and solving problems as they arise
- Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
No prior utility locating experience required — we provide training
Experience in utility location, damage prevention, or knowledge of 811 dig laws and safe excavation practices is a plus, but not requiredWe welcome applicants looking for a career in the utility locating industry
