Introduction
A Technical Sales Leader within IBM is a proven technology practitioner. Through leadership of deeply technical sales teams, you'll influence clients' technology strategies by leveraging IBM products, services, and people to solve their most complex business challenges.
Managing all technical sales roles at a market of country level, you'll be responsible for the training, coaching, and mentoring of technical talent across your teams. Integrating market /country cross-brand technical leaders, you'll encourage synergies that drive development and growth. For your clients. For IBM. And for our people.
As a technical visionary you'll paint convincing pictures of the future that apply IBM technologies, infused with modern IT architectures, which are integrated with offerings that clearly show customers how their hardest problems will be solved.

Your role and responsibilities
Your primary goal as a Technology Sales Leader will be to qualify leads and convert them into new business opportunities. With a focus on speed to engage, you will leverage your consultative selling skills to accept incoming leads and connect the dots between clients' needs and IBM's solutions. You'll collaborate with colleagues across the Sales team advising and supporting on new business engagements throughout the critically important early phases of the sales cycle and helping to lead prospects to our award-winning cloud solutions.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for leading sales efforts of a multi brand team at one IBM customers
- Addressing Clients' Business Needs: Proven ability to address clients' business needs using deep technology and industry insights.
- Best Practice Sharing: Collect and share global best practices with your team to enhance the effectiveness of local market field teams.
- Providing Use Case Expertise: Offer expertise in use cases and global best practices to IBM Sales teams, positioning IBM for long-term success with IBM technology as the foundation of client Hybrid Cloud and AI architectures.

Required technical and professional expertise
- Client Market/Industry Expertise: Veteran-level technical practitioner experience in one or more client market/industry segments, with a track record of winning through collaboration, resilience, empathy, and innovation. A natural at inspiring and motivating others to succeed in highly complex, enterprise-scale, technically complex sales environments.
- Technical Expertise: Technical knowledge around cloud, data & AI, automation, security, and storage technologies, in addition to deep industry knowledge and contemporary methods for co-creating client solutions, with and through others.
- Communication and Influencing: Palpable people, communication, and collaboration skills, with a proven record networking and influencing throughout the successful closure of complex technology sales cycles (including $multi-million deals).
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Product and Service Proficiency: Experience working with IBM's products and services (training across IBM's product suite will be provided).
- Deep Industry Expertise: Industry experience with leadership roles in sales, consulting, or architecture

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
