Introduction
We're looking for a motivated college student to join the Chief Sustainability Office as a Supply Chain Sustainability Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore how sustainability is embedded into global supply chain strategy, operations, and partnerships — all powered by IBM's cutting-edge technologies and analytics platforms.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Supply Chain Sustainability Intern, you will:
- Support supplier engagement strategies that promote environmental responsibility, compliance, and resilience.
- Use AI-powered tools and dashboards to analyze supply chain data related to emissions, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Contribute to the development of sustainable procurement policies and supplier KPIs, leveraging automation and intelligent workflows.
- Help monitor emerging regulations and map IBM's supply chain impact to support advocacy and compliance efforts.
- Leverage IBM technologies (including Client Zero, Watsonx, and other analytics platforms) to assess sustainability risks and opportunities.
- Participate in cross-functional projects that align sustainability goals with business value creation.
- Attend internal forums and supplier reviews to observe strategic partnership development and innovation in action.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program (Sustainability, Supply Chain, Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or related field).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
- Interest in sustainability, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices.
- Experience or interest in using AI, automation, and data visualization tools to drive insights and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Highly organized with a proactive mindset and eagerness to learn.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
