Description
Student Internship at ANSIRH (Summer/Fall 2026)
UCSF/ANSIRH is seeking three students to work closely with faculty and staff on our Abortion Facility Database. The student interns will be responsible for updating ANSIRH’s national database of abortion-providing facilities. The database was last updated in Summer/Fall 2025. The work will entail conducting a systematic online search, based on established methodology, and conducting mystery calls to facilities to gather information that is not available online. The student interns will work within a multi-disciplinary team at ANSIRH. ANSIRH values a diverse workforce and strongly encourages applications from candidates who are people of color or are otherwise historically excluded in abortion research.
The internship starts between May 1 and June 1, 2026, depending on the applicants’ availability, and continues until completion of the database update, which is estimated to take 4-6 months. The position requires at least 20 hours per week and pay is $20 per hour. Work can be done during flexible times but requires workday hours to make phone calls to facilities. The project can be done remotely from anywhere within the U.S. and could be used to fulfill graduate school practicum requirements.
Interested candidates should complete a screening survey and upload a resume and cover letter here: https://ucsf.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4N5Ibsesdx3Hba6

Our work is informed by an understanding of the role that structural inequities play in shaping health. We believe in the importance of research in advancing evidence-based policy, practice, and public discourse to improve reproductive wellbeing.
