Description
Your role and responsibilities
Storage Test Engineer, IBM Corporation, Poughkeepsie, NY:
- Develop and improve manufacturing test processes for internal storage products.
- Collaborate with systems development engineers and manufacturing on early test initiatives and continuous improvement activities to support the test process for internal storage products.
- Participated in development during the concept phase of the product life cycle to drive requirements for manufacturability, serviceability, test requirements, and quality for all internal storage products.
- Perform early functional design reviews, understand test and acceptance specifications, and ensure early ship or first-time ship requirements are met.
- Understand the functional nature of products, log and decode errors, develop test operations, execute and automate tests, and manage server maintenance, security, and other related test support activities.
- Provide process improvement recommendations and implement them to maximize storage product quality.
- Create and maintain test operations and automation and train manufacturing personnel.
- Analyze and automate processes to help in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing test process.
- Utilize: Python, Shell, Java, Unix/Linux (AIX, RedHat, CentOS), Git, SAP/DB2.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related (employer will accept an Associate's degree plus two (2) years of IT experience in lieu of bachelor's degree) and two (2) years of experience as a Test Support Engineer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Python, Shell, Java, Unix/Linux (AIX, RedHat, CentOS), Git, SAP/DB2. $141249 to $180000 per year. Full time. SN161.
