Description
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care in a retail independent pharmacy setting. This role emphasizes strong patient relationships, collaboration with the pharmacy team, and active participation in expanding clinical services while serving as a trusted healthcare resource within the community.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Services
Accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with state and federal regulations
Provide medication counseling and patient education tailored to individual needs
Conduct immunizations, point-of-care testing, and other clinical services as applicable
Identify and resolve medication-related problems, including drug interactions and adherence issues
Collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Pharmacy Operations
Oversee daily pharmacy workflow to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and support staff
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and company policies
Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and controlling medications
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Customer Service & Community Engagement
Deliver exceptional customer service in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner
Build long-term relationships with patients and caregivers
Serve as a visible and trusted healthcare resource within the community
Address patient concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Stay current on pharmacy best practices, clinical guidelines, and continuing education requirements
Support the implementation and growth of new pharmacy and clinical services
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
Active WI pharmacist license in good standing
Immunization certification
Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in retail or independent pharmacy
Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and third-party billing
Interest in rural or community-based healthcare delivery
