Position Summary:
- Perform inspections of finished product to ensure product specifications are strictly adhered.
- Perform in-process and final quality control inspections of product using a microscope and various measurement tools.
- Assist in developing inspection team capabilities, either through training or improving inspection processes. Interface with engineering to provide support as needed.
Major Responsibilities of the Position:
- Responsible for final go / no-go QC inspection and approval
- Enter data into CAMDB system software during inspection procedures
- Responsible for compilation of inspection reports, records, and trends
- Communication of visual and dimensional results to the Production and Prosthetics Lab departments
- Assist in customer complaint investigations
- Work closely with Production and Prosthetic Lab Supervisors to insure Quality product
- Identify and recommend improvements to Production and QC processes
- Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- Dental Technician associate degree or 8 years of experience performing visual inspection using a microscope in a Dental Lab environment
- Excellent hand-eye coordination (manual dexterity), attention to detail, knowledge of dental anatomy, and proficiency with digital tools like CADCAM software.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High degree of attention to detail
- Strict, uncompromising adherence to quality standards
- Excellent visual acuity
- Ability to use a microscope for long periods of time
- Ability to use computers for collecting and logging data; familiar with Microsoft Office productivity software (Excel, Word at minimum)
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Knowledge of use of a wide variety of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and optical measuring equipment
- Understanding of the machining process and familiarity with machining equipment strongly desired
- Knowledge of inspection and quality control methods, techniques, and equipment is desired
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Sit/stand for 8 hours
- Excellent visual acuity
