Your role and responsibilities

This role is required to support the continued successful delivery of the client's Timekeeping and Payroll Modernization program, which is currently in critical testing phases including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The program schedule has recently been extended to support phased agency deployments, creating a sustained need for a dedicated QA/Test Lead to oversee enterprise testing strategy, defect governance, and payroll validation activities. Given the complexity of the program—including multiple transit agencies, unionized workforces, and highly complex pay rules—this role is essential to ensuring payroll accuracy, program stability, and successful go-live execution.

Maintaining this role ensures continuity of leadership across testing and validation activities during a high-risk stage of the program and protects IBM's delivery commitments on a major public sector engagement. The position is expected to remain fully billable for a minimum of six months based on the current project timeline.

Beyond the immediate program needs, this role provides strategic workforce management expertise that can be leveraged across multiple transit-sector opportunities. As IBM continues to expand delivery efforts within transportation and public sector clients—including potential work with Regional Transit Authorities.

The Solution Consultant in Talent Transformation including Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is a critical role that demands a fusion of consulting acumen, technical expertise, and leadership prowess. Collaboration with the sales team and other internal stakeholders is integral, as they shape and deliver winning solutions, playing a pivotal role in the overall success of engagement pursuits. They serve as the primary source of IBM's solution design and development globally. Additionally, they create optimized cost cases that align with client requirements and needs while factoring in IBM's profitability. Regular interaction with internal and external clients, along with other key stakeholders, is necessary for refining solutions and advancing deal closures.
