Requires night and weekend availability.Job SummaryThe Student Manager for Smart Campus Operations plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of The Cornerstone building on the UK campus during evenings and weekends. This individual is responsible for supervising other student employees, managing facility operations during their shift, and being the point of contact for any issues or emergencies that might arise. Additionally, the Student Manager will take part of various Smart Campus initiatives to learn, ideate, and lead important tasks, projects, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the facility's operations during evening and weekend hours.
- Supervise, guide, and support other student employees during the shift, ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are met.
- Address and resolve any immediate issues or conflicts that arise during the shift.
- Ensure that all facility equipment is operational and report any malfunctions to the appropriate department.
- Assist with room setups and breakdowns for events taking place during evening or weekend hours.
- Collaborate with University Events team and other departments hosting events to ensure their needs are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders and partners using The Cornerstone during off-hours.
- Document any significant incidents, issues, or feedback during the shift and report them to the Cornerstone Operations and Project Specialist or another designated superior.
- Ensure compliance with all facility policies and procedures during evening and weekend hours.
- Iterate and develop new and existing Smart Campus initiatives
Experience or familiarity with event coordination.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
