Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Storage Administrator, you'll work with the Storage and Data Protection team in support of a federal healthcare enterprise environment, including medical and scientific research and administration. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and coordinating the use and proper operation of the storage and backup environments, ensuring the client's critical science and research is stored, backed up, and protected.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
- Hybrid role requires onsite work at our Rockville, MD location (on-call rotation required)
- Certification: current ITIL v4 Foundation, or able to obtain within 12 months
Required education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- 1+ Years Admin support for storage devices, including Vast, Hitachi, NetApp, Isilon, Brocade etc.
- 1+ Years Support of enterprise-level, on-premises backup environments, preferably with Commvault Simpana
- 2+ years Review and maintain data permission and security in consult with primary data owners
- 2+ years perform routine firmware/software updates, planned and emergency maintenance, and other tasks as required to maintain the infrastructure
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Experience maintaining a multi-tiered storage environment including multiple SAN/NAS platforms
- Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow, managing tickets and fulfilling service request
- Working knowledge of all phases of the engineering lifecycle including: conceptualization, planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, operations, and maintenance
- Strong attention to detail, and awareness of surroundings (as working in a data center is required)

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
