Your role and responsibilities
As a Delivery Consultant, you will work closely with IBM clients and partners to design, deliver, and optimize IBM zSoftware solutions that align with your clients' goals. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to ensure world-class delivery while leveraging your consultative skills such as problem-solving, communication, and service orientation. As a member of IBM Expert Labs, a team that is client focused, courageous, pragmatic, and technical, you'll collaborate with clients to optimize and trailblaze new solutions that address real business challenges. This role combines technical expertise with delivery excellence to drive successful client engagements and business growth in the Z software portfolio.
The ideal candidate is experienced with Application Development on IBM Z and is passionate about helping clients leverage industry-leading technology to transform their business while building trusted relationships. You will serve as an advocate for the adoption of IBM technologies such as well as a hands-on expert for the implementation of Z stack solutions.

Required technical and professional expertise
- Deep expertise in IBM Z: proven experience with IBM Z, middleware, and associated software, including COBOL, with the ability to design and deliver tailored infrastructure services solutions.
- Experience with leading solution delivery: a strong background in delivering complex solutions that meet clients' unique needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and collaboration across all project participants.
- Experience with mainframe modernization approaches, including APIs, Linux on Z, hybrid cloud patterns, and z/OS Connect.
- Experience with zSoftware: familiarity with watsonx Code Assistant for Z, IDzEE, zDevOps, and other tools to accelerate mainframe Application Development.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure including site reliability, performance, cybersecurity and compliance, and hybrid architecture, including its relationship to business objectives with the ability to develop comprehensive solution strategies.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Advanced knowledge of Linux and z/OS: in-depth knowledge of Linux and z/OS operating systems, including their applications and configurations.
- Experience interfacing with enterprise customers, especially during escalations or complex deployments, and communicating project risks, actions, issues, and dependencies to executives.
- Advanced knowledge of COBOL application programming, or other languages such as PL/I, Assembler, REXX, and Java on z/OS.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
