OverviewWellesley Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team. This individual will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and Lead Assistant Golf Professional to ensure the highest standards of service, efficiency, and member satisfaction across all areas of the golf operation.

Wellesley Country Club, founded in 1910 and originally designed by renowned architect Donald Ross, offers a premier golf and recreational experience. The Club features an 18-hole championship course, a 6-hole par-3 course, a full driving range, two practice putting greens, and state-of-the-art simulator bays. Members also enjoy exceptional racquets and pool facilities, along with an extensive and thoughtfully curated dining program.
The Club hosts approximately 26,000 rounds of golf annually and conducts more than 100 tournaments each year, including Men's events, Women's 18- and 9-hole events, mixed tournaments, junior golf programs, and a variety of charitable outings that bring our community together.

Position Overview
The Golf Professional is an integral part of the golf operation and is being hired with the intent of developing into a future Head Golf Professional. This role is designed for a motivated professional seeking comprehensive exposure to all aspects of operating a successful golf facility. The selected candidate will work closely with the Head Golf Professional in a mentorship-driven environment, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, business management, programming, and member relations that extends well beyond a traditional assistant role.
Experience Required
We are seeking an enthusiastic, service-driven golf professional with experience in a private club environment and a strong commitment to member satisfaction. The ideal candidate thrives in a setting built on relationships, takes pride in delivering consistently exceptional service, and understands the importance of anticipating and exceeding member expectations.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism in daily interactions, and the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse membership. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for elevating the overall member experience are essential, along with a desire to grow within the profession and develop the leadership skills necessary to one day run a golf operation.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities will span daily golf operations, including delivering exceptional member service, tournament and event administration, merchandising and retail strategy, instruction and player development, pace-of-play management, starting duties, and regular interaction with the membership through play and programming. In addition, this professional will be actively involved in operational oversight areas such as cart fleet and facility management, bag room operations, practice facility standards, and the hiring, training, and supervision of seasonal staff.
As part of a structured professional development path, this position offers intentional mentorship, increasing leadership responsibility, and exposure to decision-making processes that prepare the individual to successfully lead their own golf operation in the future.
In addition this position focuses on Men's Golf, Developing the Junior Golf Program, Merchandising, Instruction and General Operations.

The Club strives to maintain a five-day work week, with weekly hours typically ranging from 40 to 50.
