Overnight Assistant Camp Director (Seasonal)
Outdoor Program | Summer Season | Live OnSite
Looking for a summer role where you can lead, make an impact, and work outdoors? The Assistant Camp Director helps oversee daily camp operations, supports staff and campers, and steps into a leadership role to ensure a safe, inclusive, and fun camp experience at our overnight camp in beautiful Julian, California.
What You’ll Do:
- Support daily camp operations, schedules, activities, and special events
- Cosupervise camp staff and campers; provide guidance and mentorship
- Help plan and deliver staff training
- Communicate with parents/guardians and handle concerns professionally
- Ensure health, safety, emergency, and ACA standards are followed
- Assist with camp budgeting and logistics
- Step in as a counselor or activity specialist as needed
- Actively participate in camp life and events
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 21 years old
- Experience in a youth camp, school, or recreation setting (leadership experience preferred)
- Ability to work the full camp season, attend trainings, and live onsite
- CPR/First Aid certification (required)
- Strong communication, organization, and conflictresolution skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather; able to walk uneven terrain and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Nice to Have:
- Lifeguard, archery, or challenge course certification
- Applicants should support the mission and values of Girl Scouting and be willing to uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
- Pay Range: $145.00 - $154.00/day, DOE
