The Warranty & Project Quality Engineer has a dual role including proactively driving contract reviews, risk identification, and quality planning, and owning warranty claims and investigations from receipt to closure.
This role acts as a cross-functional leader working with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Field Service, and Quality to ensure lessons learned are acted upon and embedded into new products, projects, and standard product lines reducing risk, cost, and customer impact.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor end-to-end warranty process including claim validation, investigation, root cause, and cost tracking
Analyze warranty trends and identify systemic issues
Drive containment and corrective actions and ensure permanent corrective action effectiveness
Lead contract and project risk reviews using warranty data
Lead cross-functional projects for warranty reduction and product improvements
Serve as technical liaison for customers and field service
Develop dashboards for warranty trends and project risks
Travel potentially up to 40%

Qualifications
4-year degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and three to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
ASQ CQE or equivalent certification
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, weldments, and fabrication
Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation
Proficiency in 8D, A3, CAPA, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, Inspection Plans
Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
Microsoft Office 365 with fluency in Excel is required

The Warranty & Project Quality Engineer has a dual role. The front-end role is the Warranty Project Engineer which proactively drives new project contract reviews, risk identification, and quality planning using historical product performance data from various sources and REX (Return of Experience) into new or existing product and contract execution. The back-end role is owning warranty claims and investigations from receipt to closure including elimination of design or process risks identified in investigations.
This role acts as a cross-functional leader working with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Field Service, and Quality to ensure lessons learned are acted upon. This experience needs to be embedded into new products, projects, and standard product lines reducing risk, cost, and customer impact.
Analyze warranty trends and identify systemic issues
Lead tear down reports and analysis of product field failures to determine root cause of failure(s)
Drive containment and corrective actions across customer, manufacturing, and suppliers
Lead contract and project risk reviews using warranty data
Identify historical failure risks in design, materials, and application
Develop project-specific quality plans and CTQs
Lead cross-functional projects for warranty reduction and product improvements
Coordinate with PMO, Engineering, Test Lab, Quality, and Sales
Lead structured problem solving (8D, 3L5 Why, Affinity Brainstorming)
Drive corrective actions to closure and ensure permanent corrective action effectiveness
Serve as technical liaison for customers and field service including on-site visits to help. support containment and countermeasures in the field
Develop dashboards for warranty trends and project risks
Travel potentially up to 40%

Qualified candidates will possess the following
4-year degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; and three to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
ASQ CQE or equivalent certification
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, weldments, and fabrication
Mechanical aptitude to assemble/disassemble per engineering drawings
Engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T proficiency
Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation
Proficiency in 8D, A3, CAPA, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, Inspection Plans
Experience working within a PMO structure, CAPM or equivalent experience preferred
Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
Microsoft Office 365 with fluency in Excel is required
Ability to develop and utilize statistical and data analysis tools such as Minitab, SasJmp, Macro Excel Sheets, Power BI preferred
