Fillmore Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned practice in Colorado Springs, CO. We are looking for individuals who excel in communication and multitasking skills, as well as attention to detail and positive attitudes that work well with others to join our family.

We are looking for a reliable, personable, and experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to multitask, remain calm even in stressful situations, possess a strong background in veterinary practices, including knowledge of animal anatomy, dental terminology, and veterinary critical care, anesthesia, surgical experience and is accustomed to interacting with clients and patients in a professional manner.

Duties

1. Assist veterinarians during examinations.
2. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
3. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
4. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care.
5. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
6. Knowledge of yearly vaccine protocols
7. Surgical preparation, induction, monitoring and recovery, clean up
8. Venipuncture
9. Intravenous Catheter placement
10. Basic triage of phone calls (emergency/urgent/non-emergent illnesses)
11. Basic computer skills

Qualifications

1. Registered Veterinary Technician.
2. Strong skills in animal handling and care, with a focus on compassion and empathy.
3. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dentistry.
4. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is an asset.
5. Understanding of animal anatomy and physiology to assist in diagnostics.
6. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and pet owners.
7. Maintain composure and efficiency during a medical crisis or stressful situation
