Introduction
As Program Director, you are the manager of a high-performing watsonx.data Product Marketing team, and work closely with a large stakeholder group including product management, development, sales, marketing & communications and IBM's senior leadership team. This individual will be an expert in their product, market and customer needs while leading with speed, compassion, and executing against key goals to drive business growth.
IBM watsonx.data is an open, hybrid data foundation for AI-ready data at scale. It sits with IBM's Data and AI Software portfolio.
Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking an energetic, innovative and experienced product marketing leader to join the IBM Software Product Marketing team and lead watsonx.data. As a Product Marketing leader, you will define and drive differentiated product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for a leading product in the IBM Software portfolio.
You will lead client-centric messaging and storytelling for how watsonx.data shows up in market including driving product requirements, strategic launches, major programs and product activation within IBM's sales and marketing teams to exceed aggressive usage and revenue targets.
Responsibilities include frequent leadership of high-impact client, partner, analyst and influencer engagements, developing prescriptive messaging and client-journeys for different market segments and the ability to articulate business value and technical capabilities of a data platform solution.
Leaders are required to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.

Required technical and professional expertise
- 10+ years of experience in technology, B2B products and/or product marketing;
- Outstanding, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills;
- Proven ability to think strategically, lead from the front with business and technical skills, problem-solve and have a hands-on management style;
- Learning mindset willing to keep pace with a fast-moving market;
- Skills including expertise in agentic AI and the ability to quickly become a subject matter expert in relevant Data and AI markets;
- Excellent judgment based on data, business/marketing acumen, and expert resources;
- Ability to translate client needs and product capabilities into clear, differentiated messaging that can scale to leadership proof points to improve the IBM's market position;
- Presence in market to drive key objectives with clients, partners, analysts and influencers and act as a spokesperson for IBM;
- Effectively lead with senior and executive leadership to drive high-priority initiatives, shaping strategy, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring successful execution across the business;
- Thrive in a setting that has definition, yet much ambiguity, where a strong POV and a sense of urgency are required;
- Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the product, marketing, and sales functions to align narratives, content, event marketing plans, and go to market strategy;
- Great leadership skills to motivate their team with the ability to career-path, lead with compassion, receive and deliver clear and actionable feedback and invest in the IBMer;
- Execute with speed and rigor.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Success in fast growth enterprise and SaaS solutions serving a worldwide customer base.;
- Expertise in data management, database and data platform markets;
- Strong understanding of inbound, outbound & technical sales and marketing strategies;
- Product Management or Technical Sales experience.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
