Description
The Sociology department at the University of Notre Dame, with the support of Notre Dame Population Analytics, invites highly motivated applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellowship. We seek an enthusiastic, independent researcher with strong quantitative and data management skills, particularly with expertise in analyzing large-scale spatial datasets using R or Python and a background in Sociology, Geography, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field to work on a high-impact, funded project combining spatial and demographic datasets to study geographic and social determinants of mental health across the U.S.. The project is led by Dr. Daniel Tadmon and Dr. Molly Copeland. Candidates will contribute to the data analysis and co-authorship of research articles stemming from the project. The Fellow will have the opportunity to develop their own research questions within the project's framework, contribute to theoretical development, and present at national conferences. Duration: 2 years. The position is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026, with some flexibility.
Location: Position based at the University of Notre Dame with potential for hybrid or remote arrangements for qualified U.S.-based candidates.
Salary range: $70,000-$75,000. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and access to university resources.
Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology, Geography, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
