The Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a post-doctoral associate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Timothy Billiar.
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will contribute to an NIH-supported project focused on evaluating the efficacy and mechanisms of anti-IFN drugs in the treatment of AGS. Responsibilities include strict adherence to all relevant regulatory procedures, collaboration with team members, experimental design and execution, data analysis, meticulous record keeping, manuscript development and writing, submission of manuscripts for publication, and presentation of research findings at scientific meetings.
Requirements: Candidates should possess an MD and/or Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology or related field. We are looking for an individual who is also team-oriented and possesses excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work collaboratively and be interested in working with individuals from many different backgrounds including basic scientists and clinicians. Candidates should also have effective communication and interpersonal skills. Salary will be commensurate with relevant research experience and adhere to NIH Post-Doctoral salary guidelines.
