Village of Sheridan Police Chief Opening

The Village of Sheridan is now accepting applications for the full-time salaried position of Police Chief. The Police Chief is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the police department and ensuring public safety within the community.

Responsibilities include supervising all police department operations, handling FOIA requests and document control, enforcing local ordinances, and managing nuisance issues within the community.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Valid driver's license
• Firearms training
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience
• Current certification with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board
• Successful completion of a background investigation, drug screening, physical exam, and psychological evaluation
• Ability to work effectively in a rural community
