Description
Indian River County, Florida has a unique opening for the position of Plans Examiner. The right candidate will have experience in reviewing plans and associated documents to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code, local ordinances, state statutes, other related laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements
The minimum requirement for this position:
High school graduate/GED supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years documented experience working in construction (Journeyman level, superintendent, project manager, or equivalent), inspection, and plans examination, or associate degree in engineering/building technology or related field. An associate’s degree may be considered to satisfy two (2) years of required experience. Contractor's license may be considered to satisfy two (2) years of experience.
Must possess or have the ability to meet the qualifications of Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) for Provisional Plans Examiner Certification for the required category (i.e., Building [structural], plumbing, mechanical, electric, etc.), of a minimum of one (1) primary discipline as a Plans Examiner Florida DBPR approved license preferred.
Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
