Pharmacy Technician – Specialty Pharmacy (First Health Specialty Pharmacy)
Location: New York
Employment: Full-Time
First Health Specialty Pharmacy is expanding and seeking a high-level, experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our specialty division. We focus on high-touch, high-care patient models, complex therapies, and concierge-level service for both prescribers and patients.

Can handle high-touch, high-acuity patient care workflows
Has experience with prior authorizations, benefits investigations, REMS programs, and specialty medication workflows
Is comfortable with cold-chain processes, high-cost therapies, and patient support programs
Is detail-oriented and committed to compliance, accuracy, and exceptional care
Responsibilities
Support all aspects of specialty dispensing operations
Assist with patient onboarding, education, refill coordination, and adherence tracking
Manage prior authorizations, insurance verifications, and specialty benefits
Coordinate with prescribers, case managers, and patient support programs
Maintain DSCSA, ACHC, and other compliance standards
Participate in performance improvement initiatives
Provide exceptional customer service and empathy-driven patient care
Requirements
2+ years specialty pharmacy experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of high-cost, limited-distribution, biologics, and injectable therapies
Excellent communication, accuracy, and workflow management
Ability to manage sensitive patient needs with professionalism and compassion

Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a pharmacy setting REQUIRED
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
Medication ordering and inventory management
Prescription entry and pharmacy software systems
Insurance claim processing and basic insurance troubleshooting
Preferred experience with drug importation or self-importation processes (documentation, vendor contact, compliance steps, etc.)
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
