POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pharmacist In-Charge (PIC) will oversee day-to-day Pharmacy operations of staffing management and dispensing pharmaceuticals prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provision of information and education to patients about use. The PIC ensures development of communication protocols and pathways to connect and assist health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications to the extent appropriate and within scope of license.Promotes pharmacy usage to new and existing Careteam Plus patient and family base and develops short and helps develop long-term strategic goals. Maintains and tracks inventories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty without accommodation or with accommodation without undue hardship to Careteam Plus.
Oversees forward facing pharmacy staffing operations.
Ensures prescription control and protocols are in place to assure accuracy, to ascertain needed ingredients, and to evaluate suitability.
Staff schedule, evals, time off management, disciplinary mgt, commendations and related.
Creates protocol and pathway to ensure the provision of information and education regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage to patients and other key stakeholders.
Helps create system for proper medication storage for treatment, environment and general safety.
Helps create system to maintain records such as pharmacy electronic and physical files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records.
Helps create programs and protocols to assist patients to manage conditions such as diabetes, asthma, tobacco cessation, high blood pressure, training people to use devices such as blood pressure and diabetes monitors.
Understands and employe varying protocols and inventory management and other protocols as may be needed for 340B and on-340B pharmaceuticals.
Responsibility for multiple location med rooms “consultation”, inventory control, temperate control assistance for applicable vaccines and medications and related emergency protocol as may be applicable. Overall ensure inventory control to meet the patient needs.
Analyzes prescribing and industry trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
Creates and implements effective delivery service program.
Helps to establish department goals and monthly and annually completes outcome data reporting as may relate to area of responsibility and as may be assigned by the Director.
Promotes pharmacy to patients receiving care & service through Careteam Plus clinic & other locations.
Serves as a high-level representative to resolve customer issues/questions.
Interacts courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships at all times.
Responsible to help maintain company compliance with federal and state laws, grant requirements, and reviewing bodies.
Responsible for up-to-date policies and procedures manuals for dispensing programs.
Ensures pharmacy reports accurately reflect all billing, actual monthly dispensing and drug orders.
Careteam Pharmacy staff work together as a team & help each other, patients/clients, by performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years Pharmacy staffing and general operation leadership experience required.
Prior experience with 340 B inventory management and filling prescriptions strongly preferred.
Certification, License, Registration
Licensed unencumbered and in good standing with the SC Board of Pharmacy required.
A pharmacist seeking authorization to administer vaccines has proof of completed a course of training accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or a similar health authority or professional body approved by the Board of Pharmacy and the Board of Medical Examiners.
BLS required for any Pharmacist educated to administer vaccines (see above).

Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
