OverviewClub Overview
Mountain Air Country Club was developed by the Banks and the Young families, who for many generations have called Yancey County and Slickrock Mountain their home.
Beyond the bonds of kinship, these families were united by a common vision: To build a uniquely magnificent mountaintop community and private country club.
Members of Mountain Air Country Club enjoy access to 18 challenging fairways, where sweeping 100-mile views and dramatic elevation changes accentuate the thrill of playing world-class mountaintop golf.
Internship Overview
The Summer Golf Operations Internship provides hands-on experience across all areas of private club golf operations. Interns will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professionals to gain practical exposure to golf shop operations, tournament management, customer service, junior golf programs, merchandising, and outside services operations.
This position is ideal for students pursuing the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program and those seeking to build a strong foundation in the golf industry.

Estimate of 5 days per week. Preferred May through October. May through August possible.
Experience Required
- Prior experience in the golf course or club industry is preferred
- Completed or enrolled in an accredited PGM program.
- Previous golf management software and operating a POS system preferred.
- The ability to stand up to 8 hours a day.
- The ability to work productively at a desk/computer for 6-8 hours a day.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, climb stairs, reach overhead, and lift to 30 pounds
- Ability to withstand a range of outside weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat.
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver Exceptional Member and Guest Service
- Assist with Golf Shop Operations
- Help with Merchandising
- Facilitate Junior Golf Week
- Repair and re-grip clubs
- Assist with Tournament Operations
- Provide Outside Operations Support
- Observe and assist PGA Professionals during lessons
