Baker Botts LLP is seeking a junior to mid-level associate (2–6 years of experience) to join our Global Projects practice, with a focus on project finance transactions to join any of our U.S. offices (Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.).
The ideal candidate will have experience representing sponsors, lenders, or investors in complex domestic and cross-border energy and infrastructure transactions, with particular familiarity with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) financing programs.
Responsibilities:
Represent lenders, sponsors, and other stakeholders in project finance transactions
Structure and negotiate credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, security documents, and related financing documentation
Support transactions involving DOE Loan Programs Office (LPO) financing, including Title XVII and ATVM programs
Conduct due diligence and manage deal execution across multidisciplinary teams
Collaborate closely with partners and clients on sophisticated, high-profile transactions
Qualifications:
2–6 years of experience in project finance transactions at a leading law firm
Familiarity with renewable energy, power, infrastructure, or energy transition projects preferred
Experience with DOE-backed financings or similar government-supported programs
Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams in fast-paced environments
Excellent academic credentials and strong attention to detail
Admission to the bar in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction (or eligibility to waive in)
The salary range is $235,000 to $390,000 and depends on a candidate's experience.
