Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Opportunity East Bay (Hayward/Castro Valley/San Leandro)

Get started in this emerging career path with Diablo Infectious Diseases, as we will provide back-up and appropriate training for everything one would need to be successful in the field of infectious disease. We are seeking an intelligent, enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to help us.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Functions with the aid of the physician to perform Infectious Disease consultation services for acute and chronically ill patients in the long term acute care hospital 

• Communicates with the physician in interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient's needs.

• Writes appropriate notes.

• Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities with the aid of consultation with the physician.

• Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.

• Assists with the provision of medical care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.

Work Day:

• Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM,  One out of four weekends

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must be Board certified and have a valid California State Board and furnishing licenses.

• Experience working in Skilled Nursing Facilities is ideal.

Job Prerequisites:

• Valid CA driver’s license

• At least 1 year full time NP/PA experience within the last 3 years OR new graduate (within 6 months from graduation) from accredited nursing program with any of the following degrees/certifications: Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult or Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant

• Up to date National Board Certification (with ANCC or AANP or AAPA)

• Valid CA BRN licenses: furnishing, NP license, RN license, PA License
