Description
OverviewValley Brook Country Club is an esteemed, full service private club nestled n the scenic community of McMurray, Pennsylvania. We are dedicating to providing our members and their guests with an exceptional high -quality famliy and social atmosphere built on tradition, excellence and exceptional service. The club features 27 spectacular holes contributing to the 30,000 rounds played annually.
This position will play a critical role in maximizing Golf Shop sales, profitability, and aesthetic appeal of the Golf Shop. This will include but not be limited to procurement and inventory control, visual merchandising, and financial processing. A primary objective will be sales growth of 10% over the next fiscal year, ensuring the Golf Shop provides a premier, high-end retail experience consistent with the standard of a top-tier club.
Experience Required
3 years experience in merchadising. PGA preferred, but not required.
Essential Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive retail strategy to increase sales by 10%, targeting 1.1 million.
- Monitor inventory levels ensuring proper cash flow.
- Implement and maintain inventory control policies and procedures to limit shrinkage. This would include regular spot checks.
- Accurately receive and process all merchandise, ensuring orders, and invoices are reconciled and prepared for payment in collaboration with accounting.
- Manage the timely return of defective or unsold merchandise to vendors, ensuring proper credit documentation is secured.
- Design, implement, and update frequently high impact merchandising displays, window presentations, and floor layouts to drive impulse purchases and maintain a fresh retail environment.
- Ensure Golf Shop is consistently clean, attractive, well organized, and clutter free reflecting the club's elite standards.
- Oversee the selection and execution of all logoed merchandise to ensure brand integrity and quality are maintained.
- Research market trends and understand member demographics and preferences to select high quality mix of items.
- Cultivate Professional and strong relationships with vendors and sales reps to secure favorable terms, access to exclusive products and timely delivery.
- Leverage POS and club management software to analyze sales trends, member purchase history, and inventory performance metrics.
- Explore and utilize forecasting tools and potentially AI-driven analytics to improve demand prediction for key items.
- Manage and optimize the club's digital retail presence (member only online pro shop),
- Identify opportunities to use technology, mobile POS automated reporting to streamline inventory control.
- Manage the entire special-order process, from initial requests to accurate delivery and communication with member.
