Overview

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional plays a key leadership role in the daily execution of golf operations at Weymouth Country Club and Fox Meadow Country Club. This position supports the Director of Golf in delivering an exceptional, consistent member experience across both facilities while helping drive participation, programming, instruction, merchandising, and service standards.

This is a highly visible, service-driven leadership role responsible for ensuring operational excellence, staff supervision, and seamless member service in support of the "two clubs, one membership" experience.

Experience Required

Experience & Qualifications

• PGA Associate or PGA Class A Professional (preferred)
• 3-4+ years of experience in private club golf operations
• Demonstrated customer service excellence and leadership potential
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for instruction, tournaments, and member engagement
• Experience with club management software and POS systems
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Professional appearance and demeanor

Essential Responsibilities

Daily Golf Operations

• Assist in managing day-to-day golf shop and tee sheet operations at both clubs
• Ensure consistent service standards, pace of play, and professional presentation across both properties
• Supervise golf shop staff and outside service teams to maintain excellent member interactions
• Resolve member inquiries, service issues, and on-course concerns in real time

Tournament & Event Support

• Assist in planning, setup, execution, and scoring for all tournaments, leagues, and special golf events
• Serve as tournament director on assigned events
• Manage player communications, pairings, scoring software, and awards coordination

Instruction & Player Development

• Provide private lessons, clinics, and group instruction to grow teaching programs
• Support junior golf, ladies' programs, camps, and player development initiatives
• Promote and participate in instructional programming

Merchandising & Retail Support

• Assist with merchandise displays, inventory control, receiving, and visual merchandising standards
• Support logo merchandise, promotions, and seasonal retail programs
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional retail environments

Staff Leadership & Training

• Train, schedule, and supervise outside services and golf shop staff
• Model Arcis Golf service standards and reinforce training protocols
• Support onboarding and performance development for golf operations team members

Member Experience & Engagement

• Serve as a friendly, visible presence for members and guests
• Actively promote events, leagues, and instructional offerings
• Partner with Membership, Events, and Food & Beverage teams to enhance member engagement

Course & Facility Coordination

• Work closely with Superintendents to support daily course operations and maintenance communication
• Assist in enforcing course policies, pace of play standards, and cart management procedures
• Support seasonal opening/closing and special projects

Administrative & Compliance Support

• Assist with daily reporting, POS transactions, cash handling, and inventory audits
• Ensure compliance with Arcis Golf policies, safety standards, and PGA requirements
