Overview

Golf Program in Schools (GPS) is seeking golf coaches interested in helping introduce students to the valuable life lessons and lifelong benefits of golf! The very successful GPS program is expanding throughout the Phoenix Valley. The Instruction team assistant will be an independent contractor and part of a 2-person team introducing students to golf in their PE classes in schools and work hand in hand with the Instruction Team Lead. When not in schools, be available for individual and group golf lessons in the GPS Learning Center.

Experience Required

• Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf.
• Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market
• Service and customer-focused attitude
• Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community

Prior Experience: Golf knowledge is required; expert skill is not required. We will teach the in-school program and you will learn instruction from Kent Chase, Master Jr. Golf teacher and SW section Teacher of the year.

Essential Responsibilities

• Must enjoy working with students on individual, small group and large group settings
• Help expand and grow the GPS in-school program and GPS Golf Academy
• Help develop advanced junior golfer programs, both group and individual
• Participate in staff fellowship programs

Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:

• Conduct the golf introduction programs at the designated schools
• Help develop, organize, and implement a junior program, tournaments, GPS golf academy programs, summer program, individual lessons, rules, and etiquette
• Assist with promotion designed to attract new and existing golfers
• Provide individual and group lessons when not in the schools
• Capture stories of students improving themselves and their game!
