FAMILY ADVOCATE
Supportive Housing Focus
GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Provide individualized and trauma-informed support, advocacy, and case management to victims of intimate partner violence and their children/families, with focus on duties related to the delivery of services for victims who are residing in or transitioning to supportive housing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
60% Provide individual and group support using multiple methods and modalities.
Facilitate case management, crisis counseling, safety planning, legal advocacy and follow up services for victims of domestic violence, particularly as it relates to housing services and preparedness. Support victims in identification of their unique healing and sufficiency goals, and deliver related services to help victims overcome barriers to these goals.
20% Participate in meetings and events related to agency, programming, case reviews, and community-based partnerships. Complete/maintain ZeroV Certified Domestic Violence Advocate training, with requirement of completing Level One Certification within one year of employment and maintaining necessary continuing annual education to maintain certification throughout tenure in role.
15% Track and maintain regular statistical information in case notes and Victim Service Provider database for submission to supervisor by the monthly deadline.
5% Other duties as assigned related to delivery of services for victims of domestic violence.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field with working knowledge of program issues preferred. Level One ZeroV Certification and equivalent experience may be satisfactory.
Persons with lived experience encouraged to apply.
Other: Fluency in languages other than English and cultural knowledge are a plus. Persons with lived experience in homelessness or interpersonal violence a plus. Must provide own transportation and/or have a valid driver’s license as appropriate per job needs. Complete ZeroV certification within first year of employment.
