JOB DESCRIPTION
Helper Class b 0-6 Months
Union 28.64 Per Hour
DEPARTMENT: WNM Electric Ops
DUTIES: Under general directive supervision of electric meter working foreman or journeyman.
Performs duties in accordance with previously issued and specific instructions by assisting in meter work, and the performance of minor and non-technical shop duties.
Assists in the stocking and storing of meters and special equipment in the department stockroom as assigned, assists in inventory of material and obtaining information regarding equipment needed for fulfillment of service orders, and performs periodic dusting of meters as assigned.
Assists in the installation of meters by handling tools and equipment to workmen, and disposes of scrap material and cleans the area upon completion of the projects.
Places department vehicles in proper parking places at the end of the days work, checks all vehicles for gas and required equipment each morning upon assignment, and services drinking jugs with ice water and stores on assigned trucks.
Maintains shop areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Loads and unloads trucks, stacks, or otherwise moves material; open boxes and crates, storing equipment as necessary; and separates boxes to be salvaged and removes scrap material to the dump.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and conforms with safety rules established by the Company, receives instruction in first aid, and should be proficient in administering first aid to injured persons.
Performs other related and assigned duties.
