Description
The Grant and Programs Associate (GPA) will focus primarily on supporting the Foundations’ community and other programs strategy. This position reports to the Director of Operations and works closely with the Foundation team.
- Understand, develop, and refine strategies regarding the Foundation’s community programs.
- Work closely with current partners in the community.
- Oversee the implementation of community related grant projects, data, and outcomes.
- Attend community meetings relevant to the Foundations’ strategies.
- Identify and track data trends related to strategic goals.
- Administration of the grants management databases including design, maintenance and oversight of workflow processes and procedures.
- Manage relationship with grant software account contact.
- Maintain software and input grant data in timely fashion.
- Create templates and reports as well as track grantmaking statistics.
- Oversee contracting, payment and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process.
- Manage grant applications, payments, reporting, and closeout of grants.
- Provide technical assistance to grantees.
- Assist applicants and grantees with technical support throughout grantmaking process.
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating grant applications.
- Collect and track grantee data and metrics.
- Assist staff on advanced due diligence and research.
- Make recommendations to decision-makers and contribute to an engagement strategy.
- Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables.
- Provide detailed reports to staff and the board of directors.
- Provide training to the new staff on grants management and reporting requirements.
- Support other initiatives of the Foundation, as requested.
Requirements
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and energetic professional with drive and experience working in a professional work environment.
- At minimum a bachelor’s degree.
- A working knowledge of nonprofits and philanthropy.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in nonprofit development, community collaboration or public/private partnerships.
- A commitment to the Foundation’s mission.
- A proven track record developing community partnerships and building effective collaborations.
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines and balance numerous projects while maintaining a perspective on long-term goals.
- Self-motivated professional with drive, and experience working in a professional work environment.
- Experience collaborating with a diverse staff.
- Independence and self-confidence to act decisively and, at the same time, an ability to receive, integrate and translate others’ ideas and suggestions.
- A hard working, positive, mission-driven and extroverted work style.
- A welcome attitude to constructive criticism of his/her work.
- Analytical skills, quantitative and qualitative.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
