Overview

This full-time, exempt position directs, plans, supervises, and coordinates all aspects of the operation of our municipal golf course and reports to the City Manager. The Golf Professional will work to promote and grow course play, ensure an excellent customer service experience, and offer instruction for golfers.

Course Info:

• 25,000 rounds played and 30 hosted outings in 2025 (course closed in early 2025 due to damage from Hurricane Helene, reopened fully in March 2025)
• Partners with City and County high schools and middle schools to provide Junior Golf Program
• Fleet of 52 golf carts (Club Car 2024 model)

Experience Required

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in a related field, PGA Class A Professional Certificate, and Valid Driver License.

Five (5) years' related experience with at least two (2) years as a Golf Professional is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include scheduling and managing tournaments, recommending annual operating and capital budgets to the City Manager and City Council, managing marketing and social media for the course, and coordinating with support departments (Finance, Purchasing, HR, and Payroll) for golf operations.

This position supervises the Assistant Golf Professional, Pro Shop staff, Golf Superintendent, and Course Maintenance staff.

Annual Salary is DOQ + compensatory time earned after 40 hours worked per week. You will also have a teaching income opportunity outside of hours worked for the City.
