Position Summary:
The Area Director of Minute Clinic Operations leads a geographically diverse area, overseeing senior field leaders and clinic operations across multiple states. This role is responsible for setting strategic direction, driving operational and financial performance, developing high-performing teams, and advancing growth initiatives aligned with CVS Health and MinuteClinic priorities. The Area Director partners across the enterprise to improve patient care, strengthen execution, and lead change in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Area 1 represents 194 clinics across the West Coast (TX, AZ, CA, KS, MO, WA, NV, Hawaii, & Nebraska). Heavy travel up to 75%, typically three or more days a week is required.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop senior field leaders and clinic teams across a geographically diverse area.
Build and sustain strong talent pipelines and succession plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, and inclusion.
Business & Financial Management
Set area strategy and manage performance against key operational and financial metrics.
Oversee financial outcomes, including budgeting and resource planning across a large clinic portfolio.
Leverage data and market insights to improve productivity, patient access, and business growth.
Operations & Quality
Drive execution of operational priorities, patient care strategies, and new programs.
Ensure clinics are appropriately staffed and supported to meet patient demand and business needs.
Maintain focus on quality, compliance, safety, and regulatory readiness.
Growth & Partnership
Identify and execute opportunities to grow the business and improve market performance.
Partner cross-functionally to implement strategic initiatives and lead organizational change.
Help position the organization for future growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
15+ years of professional experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience), including 5+ years leading leaders in a geographically diverse, multi-site environment.
Proven success leading large-scale operations and delivering results across complex organizations.
Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, develop talent, and lead through change.
Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
Ability to travel up to 75%, typically multiple days per week.
Must reside within the coverage area, preferably in Texas or within 50 miles of a MinuteClinic location in the designated coverage area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare, retail healthcare, or other highly regulated multi-site environments.
Strong business acumen, including the ability to use data and insights to drive operational performance.
Proven success leading cross-functional partnerships and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Advanced clinical or business degree.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
Advanced degree preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$131,500.00 - $303,195.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
