ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR

DEPARTMENT: Public Services - Planning

HIRING RATE: $29.59-$32.86/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday 8 - 5 p.m.; Tuesday - Friday 8 - 4 p.m.

LOCATION OF POSITION: Public Services Building Goshen, Elkhart County

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for electrical inspections of buildings and structures for compliance of various codes.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's Degree in construction management, completion of electrical/trade school program, previous related experience, and/or ability to obtain and maintain ICC certification
Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of state and local building codes and ordinances
Ability to read/interpret detailed prints, sketches, and maps; prepare various documents and report; compile, collate or classify data
Valid driver's license; must be 21 years of age
Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
