Your role and responsibilities

The VBA Benefits SME is accountable for providing the contractor with subject matter expertise on the VA Benefits entitlements, to include disability compensation or pension claims process as well as VBA's loan guaranty benefits. The VBA SME shall reduce the contractor's reliance on VBA for requirements elicitation and bring broader strategy of how to bring AI and Automation into the VBA Benefits ecosystem. VBA SME must be based out of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to be on site with VBA leadership meetings.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 10+ years VBA claims intake, processing, and/or managerial experience OR Willing to substitute VBA experience with VHA, VA OIT or NCA work experience.
• 10+ years in any of the following VBA positions: Claims Assistant, Veterans Service Representative, Rating Veterans Service Representative, Assistant Coach, or Coach.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
• VA Clearance is required either coming in or eligible to obtain one
• Bachelors Degree

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Subject matter expertise on the disability compensation or pension claims process as well as VBA's entire Benefits entitlement Processes
• Familiarity with RPA, AI, and OCR
• Experience working with VA Data

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
