Hill Country Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HCTC) is seeking a full-time Cable Splicing Technician to join our team. The selected candidate must reside in the Hill Country area or within a 90-mile radius.

As a Cable Splicing Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and expanding HCTC’s telecommunications network. Responsibilities include:
- Splicing copper and fiber optic cables in indoor and outdoor environments
- Installing copper and fiber terminals on various cable sizes
- Managing slack and grounding cables in neat splice cases
- Performing mid-sheath splices and assisting with construction lineman duties
- Creating and interpreting splicing schematics and diagrams
- Documenting staking sheets and supporting project timelines through inspections and design
Performing assigned cutovers
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of relevant telecom construction experience preferred
- Specialized skills training/certification may be required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must have a valid Class C Texas driver's license
- If relocating to Texas, must obtain a Texas license within 30 days
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under HCTC's standard auto insurance policy
- Must have and maintain, or be able to obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Pole Climbing Certification (or ability to attain within 6 months of hire) required
