The Business Manager is responsible for the effective, efficient, and compliant management of all fiscal and business operations of Colfax School District. Reporting to the Superintendent and working closely with the School Board, the Business Manager ensures sound financial stewardship, accurate accounting, regulatory compliance, and transparent reporting to support district goals and student success.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Training or experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing, or fiscal operations.
• Successful experience working with financial systems and procedures in a public or organizational setting.
• Ability to use electronic communication systems and financial/accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience in school district or public-sector finance.
• Knowledge of Washington State school finance, accounting manuals, and OSPI reporting requirements.
• Supervisory or leadership experience.
• Membership in the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO).
