Description
OverviewMountain Glen Golf Club is a semi-private facility nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains of western North Carolina. The George Cobb design has been fixture of relaxation and competition for the community of Avery County since 1964. Because of it's surrounding beauty and ideal temperatures, this 18 hole layout has become a destination golf course for the surrounding areas. The facility includes a clubhouse for hosting events, a driving range, and several practice areas. The club season runs from early April to the end of October.
Experience Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong customer service experience with an extensive knowledge of golf fundamentals
- High-energy, motivated, and team-oriented
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Desire to build a long-term career in the golf industry
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with golfer check-in and tee sheet control.
- Perform opening and closing procedures of the golf department.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of golf tournaments and special events, including tournament setup, scoring, and administration.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with members and their guests by providing a high level of service and personalized engagement.
- Collaborate effectively with the golf operations team, course maintenance staff, and management to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional golf experience.
- Support and promote ladies' and men's events and programming to encourage participation and member engagement.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and guests.
- Enforce club policies and ensure compliance with all club standards.
- Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills..
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
- Conduct individual lessons and group clinics.
- Experienced in computer operation including Point of Sale, GHIN Handicapping & Golf Genius tournament software, as well as other applications, i.e. email, internet, database..
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community.
- Provide club repair and club fitting services to members and their guests.
- Play golf with a variety of members and their guests to develop relationships
